BREAKOUT SESSIONS:

The Big Retreat at Port Ludlow
The Rotary Leadership Academy

Dick Clarke
Dick Clarke

Dick Clarke, Dean of Leadership at the Academy, commented that there were “more people at this retreat than attend the average Rotary Club meeting! It occurred to several of us that most Rotarians really don’t know much about Rotary.” Two years ago, the Rotary Leadership Academy was established – a 10-lesson correspondence course. Currently, there are four BBRC members taking the course. “There is an essay at the end, and we’re having each student compose a ‘Rotary moment’ for each avenue of service. We’ll compile these and distribute them to each club in the District for use at club meetings.” Registration forms were available at the Retreat with the next class starting in the fall. Tuition is $75. “You’ll get 50 pounds of Rotary books and it takes 10 minutes a day to finish the course.” So sayeth Professor Clarke.
