Student of the Month:
Mathew Steadman

Steadman, Holert
Bob Holert (R) introduces Student of the Month Mathew Steadman.

Bob Holert introduced Mathew Steadman, a senior at Sammamish High School. With Mathew’s parents on hand, Bob observed that, “Kids become a product of us.” Mathew has all A’s in his high school career and is enrolled in three AP classes currently. His particular love is the school’s jazz choir, and he has competed on the track team in the shotput and discus. “I’ve been busy in Jazz Choir, where we take our program to other elementary and middle schools and we sponsor choir camps for young people. I’m active in our Honor Society and plan to attend Santa Clara University in the fall, majoring in Computer Science. Mathew has a sister already attending Santa Clara.

Holert joked that it “looks like Mathew will continue to get “A’s” and wondered if he knew how it feels to get a “B.” Bob said he could arrange that with Principal and Rotarian Evelyn Cogswell! Mathew didn’t seem too interested. Then, Don Deasy piped up and wondered why others in the room couldn’t be recognized “as all of us who never got B’s either!”
