From the Desk of the Sergeant At Arms (Didn’t know he had a desk, didja?)
Over the first quarter of the new Rotary year we've had some fun and we've also introduced the RIP (Rotary Insurance Program) to protect you from fines (Rourke should definitely have one). Not many of you have bought RIPs and I understand why. My insurance broker hasn't been around much. That's going to change. Look for 100% attendance from Chris.
Now that we're in the second quarter, you may find it beneficial to buy a RIP and here's why:
- Almost every meeting, we're going to do something that will cause most or at least some of you to put a buck or two on the table. A RIP might even cost you less in the long run.
- The money goes to a good cause and may be tax deductible.
- You can designate the policy fee to go to the Rotary Foundation. If you haven't started your Paul Harris, this would be a good way to do so. It's not meant to be a substitute for your normal PH giving, but a great way to supplement it.
- Or, the policy fee can go to the BBRC Foundation, for our community service next year.
As a special incentive, any fines you pay in October can be deducted from the RIP if you buy one no later than November 1. Rourke, pay attention to this!
P.S. Steve Goldfarb, with all the publicity you generate, you should definitely have a RIP too.
