The end is in sight! The 2002 BBRC Raffle becomes history on November 1, when ticket sales end. Friday’s turn-in resulted in an additional $11,000, to swell the total to $69,330. This compares with $69,402 collected at the same time last year. This means the final two weeks will account for another $30,000-$40,000 turned in toward the goal of $110,000.
Remember, the last day to turn in tickets is still November 1, although the Club will meet at the Bellevue Regional Library. A special table will accommodate the accounting team, and you can imagine they’ll be busy. Be sure to have all of your paperwork done, check(s) made out to the BBRC Foundation, all of your filled-out ticket stubs available and any unsold tickets ready to turn back in.
As for the Raffle race, Mary Bell seems well in control of the number one sales spot, with $4,100 in tickets sold. It’s been a most exciting battle between Bell’s Team Congo and Doug Cameron’s Team Scotland. Congo leads with $6,840 and Scotland close behind with $6,480. Both of these teams are on Deasy’s Europe-Antarctica Travel Group, which puts them ahead in the overall race, 51.83% to Jim Zidar’s Americas-Pacific Group at 48.17%. So, as the teams race for their destinations and go down to the wire, the final two weeks will create a lot of heat.
Congratulations to the 32 club members who have traveled in First Class, having topped $1,000 in sales. It’s hoped all of the remaining members will meet their individual goals and boost the BBRC over the top in the 2002 Raffle!
