ADMIN CORNER

• We’re moving quickly toward the final month of the Rotary Year. The Treasurer would appreciate it if you’d square accounts and make your dues payments. She has a year-end report to turn out and would like everyone to start 2005-2006 with a clean slate.

• Members are doing a great job in filling out their new directory forms. For those who haven’t visited the “New Directory” in Member’s Only, do so this week and spruce up your new listing.

• Any correspondence (fan letters, complaints or checks) can be mailed to the BBRC mailbox: P.O. Box 3003, Bellevue WA 98009-3003.

President Norm greeted the club with another beautiful spring morning. LeeAnn Wood gave the invocation and led the pledge to the flag, while Kelly Nolan said hello to visiting Rotarians and helped to orchestrate introductions of guests.

Our Rotary Exchange student, Maria "Sol" Rengel, celebrated her birthday Friday. She was honored with the singing of the traditional birthday song.

Sergeant At Arms Jenny Andrews praised the public relations of Captain Kelly Nolan on behalf of the Salvation Army, as he got press for “sweet talking his way into more than 50 Eastside offices last week, celebrating National Salvation Army Week. Jenny thought he should pay $5.00 for all the publicity.

News that the Peter Powell family has given a gift of $1.5 million to the Powell’s alma mater, the University of Oregon, brought out all kinds of supporters: Jane Kuechle, Rich Hammond and Jenny Andrews, who all agreed to pay $5.00 for the news. Frank Young popped up and waved his proverbial $100 bill “to support high education,” and Peter rose to match Frank’s bill. Then Jenny announced she was raising her ante to $100, so the Ducks really made a splash! There was also something about everyone who didn’t go to Oregon putting a dollar on the table, so the take was quite astronomical!
