• Members are doing a great job in filling out their new directory forms. For those who haven’t visited the “New Directory” in Member’s Only, do so this week and spruce up your new listing.

• Any correspondence (fan letters, complaints or checks) can be mailed to the BBRC mailbox: P.O. Box 3003, Bellevue WA 98009-3003.

Big Boost for Centennial Project

x0523CentProjBy legislative appropriation, the State of Washington has committed $250,000 to the BBRC’s Centennial Project, the Spray Play Park. This contribution from the state is largely thanks to the leadership and tireless efforts of President Norm Johnson. With a $50,000 contribution from the BBRC and a couple of smaller, but important gifts, the project has commitments now over $300,000. Members of the Pacesetters Committee, chaired by Wayne McCaulley, are working to secure additional donations toward the goal of $500,000.

Pam Fuhrman, City of Bellevue coordinator for the Centennial Project, praised the club’s integrity and passion to serve the community. She was buoyed by the announcement of the State’s support and hopes that all BBRC members can attend the Crossroad Community Center groundbreaking for expansion of the existing Center. That takes place this Wednesday, at 3:30 p.m., at the center.
