Big Boost for Centennial Project By legislative appropriation, the State of Washington has committed $250,000 to the BBRCs Centennial Project, the Spray Play Park. This contribution from the state is largely thanks to the leadership and tireless efforts of President Norm Johnson. With a $50,000 contribution from the BBRC and a couple of smaller, but important gifts, the project has commitments now over $300,000. Members of the Pacesetters Committee, chaired by Wayne McCaulley, are working to secure additional donations toward the goal of $500,000. Pam Fuhrman, City of Bellevue coordinator for the Centennial Project, praised the clubs integrity and passion to serve the community. She was buoyed by the announcement of the States support and hopes that all BBRC members can attend the Crossroad Community Center groundbreaking for expansion of the existing Center. That takes place this Wednesday, at 3:30 p.m., at the center. |
