RI Foundation Report Two Dons and Richard (Chandler, Deasy, and Brown) came forward to thank the club for its support of the Rotary Foundations Annual Fund campaign. Deasy said, Were closing in on our major goal that of 100% participation by all our members. Don Chandler praised the long-term support of several BBRC members who have contributed at least $10,000 to the Foundation: Dick Clarke, Jim Owens and Peter Powell. Dick Brown recognized members who had given $1000 or more this year with wings to be added to their Rotary pins. This group includes Deasy, Chandler, Powell, Klobucher, Lingenbrink, and Kopczynski. Another group has given $500 this year, including Mary Bell, Norm Johnson, Bob McKorkle, Tim Moriarty, Bill Spencer, Dick Tschetter and Curt Cummings. In two weeks, at the June 3rd meeting, other members who have achieved special levels of giving will be recognized. The highlight of Fridays RI Report was the presentation by District Governor-Elect Sally Gray of recognition to Steve Lingenbrink as the newest member of the Bequest Society. Recently, the Lingenbrink family brought their estate plan up to date and designated the Rotary Foundation to be recipient of $25,000 of the estate. Rotary International recognizes those individuals who have made commitments in their estate plans totaling US$10,000 or more. The following gift types of US$10,000 or more are eligible for Bequest Society Membership: Bequest commitments in a will or living trust, including whole and universal life insurance. These special donors are recognized at six commitment levels: Level Six - US$1 million or greater Level Five - US$500,000 Level Four - US$100,000 Level Three - US$50,000 Level Two - US$25,000 Level One - US$10,000 All Bequest Society members receive recognition from the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation. Donors may elect to receive an engraved crystal recognition piece and a Diamond Circle pin. Diamond Circle pins will reflect the combined totals from personal outright contributions as well as bequest commitments. As DGE Sally said, Leave a legacy of hope. Join the Bequest Society today. Help secure the future of the Foundation's educational and humanitarian programs by indicating the inclusion of The Rotary Foundation in your estate plans. Congratulations to the Lingenbrink family for this latest honor. |
