Classification Talk: Chip Erickson
Chip Erickson, classification Radio Advertising-Sales., is one of a dwindling species a Seattle native. Born and raised in the Shoreline area, he also spent a few years growing up in Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Chip graduated from Shoreline and went on to Western Washington U, where he graduated in 1980. There he met his wife, Charlotte, who is now a 5th grade teacher at Emerson Elementary in Everett. They have two daughters, Shelby, a student at WSU and Lauren, a sophomore in at Shorewood High School. My passion is music. I began piano lessons at age seven, incorporating the classics and rock, and I'm now in a band that performs all over the Puget Sound area. Chips career, after a brief gig in the moving and storage business, took him into the radio sales business. He currently works for Sandusky Radio Seattle, which operates several stations, including KWJZ and KIXI. Ive had a long history of work in Seattle radio, said Chip. He then listed a whole bunch of call letters that were familiar to his audience. My job is to connect people who listen to the various stations I represent to the sponsors who want to send them a message. Chip works closely with agencies that represent clients and does research to back up his sales presentations. One of the new, talented members of the BBRC is Chip Erickson, who received his Blue badge on Friday. Welcome, Chip! |
