Classification Talk: Rob LoBosco
Rob LoBosco, with the classification BiotechnologyInformation Officer, related the story about the blackout of power service in NYC in 1965 and 9 months later Rob was born! Rob's dad owned a gas station and opened another in Connecticut where he grew up. My Dad made sure his sons went to college. My interest became the Information Technology field, where I worked to develop software and later worked in computer engineering for Sikorsky Aircraft. Rob related his work experienc on NASAs first Mars Observer, but when it got there, it didnt work! Rob then took a job with Merck in IT management. This job took him around world. The dot.com boom had begun to burst and he found himself in NYC the summer of 2001. He worked for a firm called Hot Jobs, but he knew things were going to change. He asked his wife, Where do you want to live?" Her answer was, "Seattle. Then, 9/11 happened prior to their departure. Rob and his wife, Michelle, both landed jobs here, Rob in IT for biotech and its been a fascinating run. The IT field has been good to me. Rob also took the occasion to announce his plans to run for public office. I long have had a political interest, so well see what happens. Completing his requirements for his Blue Badge by delivering his talk, Rob walked away with his new badge of courage, now a full-fledged member of the BBRC! Congratulations, Rob! |
