Vicky Sanko & President Kim Shrader

Kim Shrader opened the meeting, welcoming all to the second meeting of the New Year. He introduced Tom Smith, who delivered the invocation. When Tom turned to lead the Pledge, the whole room gasped – the Flag was missing! Quick thinking by President Shrader solved the problem. Kim reached back to the rack of flags of all nations and speared Old Glory, holding it high above his head, and the Pledge went on as if nothing happened. However, a round of applause ended the exercise!

Steve Goldfarb greeted three visiting Rotarians and other guests of Rotarians.

John Martinka, scheduler of the greeters and invocators, encouraged all of our “more experienced” members to take a turn greeting. “It’s a great way to meet the new members,” said John.

Vicky Sanko was rewarded for her hard work as a new member, having satisfied the requirements of the Red Badge. Kim presented her with her nice, new, permanent Blue Badge. Congratulations and good work, Vicky!
