Friday Potpourri
After opening remarks by President Goldfarb, Steve Lingenbrink was called upon to deliver the invocation and lead the pledge to the flag. Suzanne Goff greeted six visiting Rotarians, including former member Tony Banks who has moved to the Leavenworth area and exclaimed in his best German, “Guten Morgen.”
Don Chandler has been sidelined with a bad case of pneumonia. He was hospitalized overnight last week and has been told “to respect a call for light duty for the next week or so.”
Carol Hoeft was awarded her blue badge for a record-setting third time! Let’s hope that a third time is indeed a charm and this wonderful lady will rack up months and years of good, unbroken service to Rotary. Congratulations, Carol. Welcome aboard for the … uh … third time? And now is the time to get that password working, right, Carol?
Scott Sadler reported on behalf of the Community Service Committee, thanking Howard Johnson, Shelley Noble, and Jan Nestler for their work getting the Thanksgiving baskets together and delivered. Twenty Eastside families were grateful for a full Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of the BBRC.
Earl Falk urged members to help at the Rotary First Harvest work party, held every second Saturday of every month. That means it’s set for this Saturday, December 8, at Pier 91 in Seattle.
