ADMIN CORNER

It’s wrap-up time for the BBRC’s Rotary Foundation Annual Giving campaign. Just a few members left to give the club 100% participation in this year’s effort. If you haven’t made your commitment, please contact Don Chandler (Ph 425-974-6218) immediately so your gift can be sent to RI in time for credit in this Rotary Year. Thank you!

APB out for Rotarian who left a packet of scholarship applications at the Press Table. No reward offered. No questions asked. Email Club Administrator or call 360-863-0861

Friday Potpourri

With the opening greeting from President Johnson, Mike Ralph gave the invocation and led the pledge. Rodd Kippen greeted visiting Rotarians and guests. Visiting Rotarians included Frank Young and Shawn Rhode, Bellevue; and Mike Gano, Seattle #4.

President Norm displayed the patch awarded to the BBRC at the District Conference for fulfilling its Presidential Citation requirements.

Sayoko Kuwahara put a hold on Friday evening, June 24, for the club’s Rotating the Wheels dinner. This year, the event takes place at the Mercer Island Beach Club, with a theme of “Beach Party.” Mark your calendars and warn your spouse Rotating the Wheels on Friday, June 24. There will be no regular breakfast meeting that day.

Sergeant At Arms Jenny Andrews called Greg Hendershott forward. Greg is one of our new members, and he made news recently by earning a promotion at his firm Dorsey & Whitney, a law firm in Seattle. Over 700 people are employed there and Greg paid $7.00 to represent them.

Michael McIntosh and his wife Cherie are celebrating a newcomer in their family. Ashley Genevieve arrived on March 24 at 9:48 p.m., weighing in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and 20 inches long. Obviously, Sergeant Andrews took the highest number possible and Michael paid $20 to proudly introduce his new daughter. He said he wished she’d sleep a little more!

Steve Waltar was featured in the Bellevue Club newsletter as a person who has a “heart of a pastor and the guile of a lawyer.” Steve has always been a bright light in serving the needs of the community through his Rotary experience, following the motto of "helping one another." That didn’t help Steve much, though, as the Sergeant extracted $5.00 from him.
