ADMIN CORNER

Please keep your account current with your favorite Rotary Club. Your doing so prevents sleepless nights for the Treasurer.

Remember to use the directory changes form in the Members Only section of the website. These go directly to the Webgrunt, as well as Webdummy. Sometimes we don’t get it right (McKorkle), but it keeps us all young trying to get things straightened out.

Be sure to keep looking for typos. We enjoy your emails, even if they have no effect on future typos, mistakes, general screw-ups or intentional attention-getters.

SolExchange Student Sol Visits

Accompanied by our Exchange Master Chris Monger, Sol Rengel, our Argentine exchange student, showed paid the BBRC a visit Friday and showed a big improvement in her command of English. The vibrant young lady attends Bellevue High school and reported, “I am getting good grades!” She told how it was tough getting to Rotary Club meetings because of the problems of getting out of classes. The school was very unreasonable, asking her to take final exams on days when Rotarians meet!

Sol said despite the tough schedule, she’s been to a Sonics game (where she cheered for the opposing team because they have an Argentine player), saw a hockey game, attended her school’s Homecoming Dance (didn’t like it — no tangos or rumbas), and went on a boat ride. She would like to go horseback riding, go to Olympia and visit the capitol, and travel just about anywhere and “do just about anything! This is my first time away from home and I want to see it all!”

Sol will move into the Curt Cummings residence in March for her third quarter stay in the Puget Sound. If you have a family outing planned, why not invite Sol to join you? As she showed Friday, she’s an engaging representative of her country and she’ll surely thank you for your generosity.
