Friday Potpourri President Evison quietly greeted a roomful of Rotarians, introducing Kim Shrader for the invocation and flag salute and Jim Gordon for greeting of visiting Rotarians and guests. Pat Barron of Concordville-Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, classification Bank Consulting, was a Friday morning visitor. (Sorry about the Eagles, Pat! Hope you enjoyed your stay in the Puget Sound and the Winter of Winthrop!) Rich Hammond completed his final requirements for his blue badge by reciting the elements of the 4-Way Test. Congratulations, Rich. Mary Bell gathered the BBRC Thespians for a gig starring program guest Rob Estes. The skit was a challenge for Mr. Estes to figure out what each of three Rotarians were portraying. If Rob couldnt decipher what they represented, then everyone in the room would put a dollar on the table the possibility of $3.00 from everybody! John DeWater was first, given the assignment of portraying Richard Nixon with Heartburn. DeWater, a born actor (who can forget Superman!), did the famous Nixon outstretched arms and peace symbol, interrupted by terrible, wrenching esophogastric emissions. Fortunately for the crowd, Rob saw through the portrayal and correctly identified Johns skit. Next came Nick Paget, who was given the job of depicting Elvis High on Starbucks. A cup of coffee and wiggling hips gave the answer forthwith and Estes completed the clean sweep! No Money for Mary. But, tons of laughs and applause. Its almost scary coming to a meeting in the dark and acting so goofy. (Our guest from Pennsylvania was most intrigued. Apparently, his club has a little more decorum). | |||||||||||||
