President Evison welcomed a full house to Friday’s meeting, a beautiful Glendale morning! He introduced John Martinka for the invocation and pledge and welcomed Carol Gibson, the club’s newest member, who greeted Barbara of Duvall Rotary; Mike Montgomery, Edmonds Daybreakers; Ed Randall, Redmond Rotary; Stan Foster, Seattle #4; and Erleen Anderson, Seattle #4. There were also nine other guests of Rotarians attending.

Margie Burnett was at the Cashier’s Table. Robin Callan took attendance.

Mike Montgomery was recognized as the District Governor Nominee Designate, having just been selected to be the top man in the district for 2006-2007. As we’ve said before, “Rotary does plan ahead!” While on his feet, Mike invited Rotarians to the Edmonds Jazz Festival, scheduled for this Saturday, May 29.

A serenade to those members celebrating May birthdays was orchestrated by Jay Powers at the piano.

Remember, the Ninth Annual BBRC Golf Outing is set for Friday, July 9, at the Mt. Si Golf Course. Sign-ups are underway for foursomes and other participants. There’s a brochure posted here on the website with sign-up information.

Ed Randall of the Redmond Rotary Club invited Rotarians to join his club for the annual Red-Spoke bike ride, Redmond to Spokane, raising funds for charity. Contact the Redmond Club for details.
