Sergeant At Arms At It Again
Mary Bell arose to introduce a nationally-known celebrity, star of the Apprentice TV series, Donald Trump! Andrew Face did a fair Donald Trump and pulled together two teams who would compete against each other for his favor. Team #1 was Wendi Fischer, Jim Gordon, and Rourke OBrien, given the task of raising money for a Vidal Sassoon haircut for Steve Goldfarb. Team #2 was Jay Powers, Jenny Andrews, and Bill Brooks, whose mission was to raise funds to acquire the services of Carson Cressley to help Dick Brown with his casual wardrobe. The Donald release the two teams among the tables and a volly of fund aising and extracting dollars from donors occurred. The whistle blew and the shtick was over. Team #2 had raised $269, while the Number #1 Trio trailed with $248. But ... WAIT A MINUTE!! Frank Young sprang to his feet and yelled Ive got a $100 bucks, and Wendis team won with $348! Wow! Another $634 was banked in the Foundation account when Mary announced that the Sergeant at Arms Committee voted to give the money to Chuck Barnes to apply to the clubs Rotary Foundation effort! |
