Curt Cummings Becomes Newest BBRC Member
In a clever induction ceremony where the two sponsors of the new inductee were away in Portland for the District Conference, Past President Jim Owens introduced Curt Cummings and his family to the audience via audiotape. (Both Owens and co-sponsor Dick Clarke were busy doing District Rotary business.) Jim laid the groundwork by saying that Curt first attended a Rotary meeting in Las Vegas when he was nine years old, and hes been involved ever since, supporting his dads club in Newport, WA-Priest River, ID, by donating $5,000, becoming a multiple Paul Harris fellow in the process. He traveled to Kenya to install water systems last year and will return again this October. Curt has arranged for 5,000 copies of Microsoft Office, worth $857,000, to be donated to Rotary International for Rotary projects in developing countries. As you may have surmised, Curt works for the Microsoft Corporation as a Group Program Manager in Software Development. His classification is Information Technology-Software Development. Curts family was also introduced his wife Carla, his nearly-14-year-old son Connor, and 8-year-old Ciara. Curt likes off-road motorcycle racing, 4 X 4 challenges and lots of sports and international charity events. With his Rotary pin, his badge and the ABCs of Rotary, Curt Cummings became the newest member of the BBRC! |
