Secretary Does His Duty

Club Secretary Robin Callan ran a little election to update the bylaws. Before he did that, Robin explained what the secretary does: “I take attendance, I stay awake at Board meetings – because I produce the minutes – and every so often I re-number the badge box!”
Funny that you mention that, Robin, because the Badge Box has gotten its semi-annual upgrade. Robin urged members to check their new numbers and return their badges to their proper places. Jim Zidar countered with, “I have no problem with your numbering system. (He should be careful – we know people named ‘Zimmerman’ and ‘Zylstra’!)
As watchman of the bylaws, Secretary Callan explained a minor housekeeping measure which sets policy for people who go on leave for a variety of reasons and who get approval from the Board of Directors. They are granted their leave on the condition they will pay half-dues. The motion is to make half-dues part of the proviso for members on approved leaves of absence. The motion passed unanimously.
