Leavenworth: OK, Here’s the Deal
Master Travel and Event Chief Bob Moloney introduced one of the BBRC’s newest members, Daniel Feussner, who invited all Rotarians to participate in the Leavenworth Sojourn on May 17, 2002. Daniel, our native Teutonic representative, gave the invitation in German. Here’s the deal:
In what started as a visit to Tony and Marcia Banks’ new “ranch” on Icicle Creek quickly expanded to a full-blown “Mass Make-Up,” as more than 50 Rotarians indicated an interest in traveling to Leavenworth, staying the night, attending a Rotary meeting, and making their spouses happy with a shopping trip to fabled Leavenworth. That’s all on the docket, as arrangements have been finalized.
Bob urges members to “make hotel arrangements within the next few days!”’ May is a busy month in Leavenworth, so if you want a room overnight, you must act NOW.
Highlights of the visit will include a rare evening meeting of the breakfast-oriented Leavenworth Rotary, of which the aforementioned Mr. Banks is a member. The meeting is set for the Red Tail Canyon Farm, an old-style working ranch known for its chicken and ribs BBQ cookout and great hospitality. Prior to that event, a reception will be held at 4:30 Friday afternoon at the Bankses’ ranch (“Hey, it’s just a few acres … just room for us and two llamas.” – Tony Banks)..
After the make-up, Rotarians will retire to their overnight accommodations, only to rise the next morning for breakfast on your own, shopping, golf, or any of the other fun things available in the area.
This will be a biggie, so don’t miss out on the fun. Get your hotel reservations now. Call the Linderhof Motor Inn, 1-800-828-5680; Best Western Icicle Inn 1-800-558-2438; or the Rodeway Inn, 1-800-693-1225. All three establishments are owned by Leavenworth Rotarians, offering special “Rotary Rates” for the visit. Get crackin’, gang!
