Certification & Sustainable Forestry
Colin Moseley
, Chairman of Simpson Investment Company, is a fifth generation member of his family to run this highly successful Northwest company. Colin’s topic was Certification and Sustainable Forestry. As the manager of a private forest products company and father of four, he is encouraged to know there is positive news in the forest products industry. “Through a program of certification, we are able to achieve goals of sustainable forestry, while we protect soils, wildlife, and water quality.” MORE

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Jenny Philbin Andrews introduced Friday’s guest contestant, Frank Young, noted perpetual visiting Rotarian and BBRC benefactor. Frank said he wanted to be a millionaire and would subject himself to questioning. He then said if he won the contest, he’d buy 500 tickets @ $2.00 and deposit $1,000 in the Raffle fund! MORE

Mahoney Prepares to Leave
Although the date is a little obscure, Wally and Bernadette Mahoney will be leaving soon to take up residence on the East Coast. That’s kinda déjà vu, since that’s where it all began. MORE

New Date for
New Members Meeting
The Jitters Gang meeting date has changed. Please note that the date for September is the 11th, not the 5th. This meeting is for all new members since a year-ago at this time. Meeting is at 7:00 a.m. Contact Wayne McCaulley for more information.

REMINDER
When you need to make up a meeting, check the CALENDAR to find out times and locations of other Rotary meetings in the area. Meetings are listed by day of the week and also alphabetically.

This Week
Guests are always welcome at the BBRC. This Friday, August 31, we will close out the second month of the Goldfarb Administration (See, Steve, that wasn’t so tough, was it?) with a program presented by David Cousineau, entitled “A River of Children.” David will explore a new model of care for the most emotionally disturbed children in our state. Breakfast is served at 7:00 a.m., meeting at 7:30, and program at 8:00.

ADMIN CORNER
Just a reminder: if you need to contact the Club Administrator by phone, give him a call at 360-863-0861. The marvelous "Voice in the Box" will catch your message if I'm unavailable.

Due to the late issuance of First Quarter Dues, we’re behind on collections. If you haven’t paid your Membership Dues, please remit as soon as possible. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Sustainable forestry tries to leave the land better than it was found.

The BBRC, through its good work, tries to leave the community better than it was found.
