The BBRC Raffle 2000 Election will begin tabulating votes (dollars) after Friday’s final turn-in of ticket stubs and contributions, which will
determine the winner of the hard-fought campaign. Will it be the Whigs, led by Jim Zidar,
who have edged into first place with 43% of the vote? Or, will the Tories stage a last-minute rush that will capture the top prize for their candidate Dick Brown? Or, will a miracle happen with
the Darkside Party, led by Darth Nader, creeping up and taking all the marbles? We won’t know till all the votes are in.
The State of DeNile (of the Whig Party) seems to have the vote-getting all wrapped up, with 7,275 votes, thanks to Steve Goldfarb’s 3,690
effort. That is record-breaking duty, fans, so Goldfarb, who’s the guy in charge of the raffle, is doing his part.
[L to R] John DeWater, Sharon Edberg, Jennie Andrews, Rob Lemmon,
Terry Peterson, Dick Brown, and Chairperson Lingenbrink.

With a $100,000 goal, this makes it easy to see how far we have to go. In a show of solidarity, Raffle Chairperson Steve Lingenbrink
called all of the party bigwigs to the lectern to hear a final pep talk and urged them to get the vote out. Appearing at the dais were John DeWater, Sharon Edberg, Rob Lemmon, Terry Peterson, and
Dick Brown.
Stay tuned for the final count.
