 Foundation Contributors Recognized

McKorkle, Jewell, Klobucher, Deasy
Sapphire awards went to [L to R] Bob McKorkle, Kevin Jewell, Rick Klobucher, and Don Deasy.

Five members were recognized for their diligence in supporting the cause of the Rotary Foundation at Friday’s meeting. With District Governor John Nelson watching, Rotary Foundation Chairperson Dick Clarke awarded sapphires to Bob McKorkle, Rick Klobucher, and Kevin Jewell, signifying contributions of more than $2,000 to RF. Don Deasy, Past BBRC president, was praised for his fourth sapphire, which means he has contributed over $5,000 to the Foundation.

Nelson, Roberts, Clarke
Distsrict Governor John Nelson [L] and Rotary Foundation Chairperson Dick Clarke [R] with newest Paul Harris Fellow Steve Roberts.

Steve Roberts became the Club’s newest Paul Harris Fellow, and was awarded the handsome certificate and pin.

Clarke told District Governor Nelson that the BBRC has invested more than $100,000 in Rotary Foundation contributions over its 15-year history, with over 100 Paul Harris Fellows in the Club. There are also nine benefactors and two Major Donors (those who include the Foundation in their wills).

These are all milestones that each member can be proud. Clarke still has funds available for matching contributions to this year’s drive. New members not yet committed to acquiring a Paul Harris Fellow can contribute $200 and be matched with $200 of Dick’s money. Sustaining Paul Harris members can contribute $100 and be matched with $100 from Clarke’s Cornucopia. He has just $3,000 left, so you’d better hurry!
