"Fear of Public Speaking," Dr. Joyannah Lonnes, specializing in teaching people how to overcome fear of public speaking with a technique called Emotional Fear Technique. If your palms sweat, knees shake, and ythroat dries up when you’re in front of a crowd, you’ll be entertained and enlightened by Dr. Lonnes.

ADMIN CORNER

Fourth Quarter has only three meetings remaining. The Rotary Year will close with the annual Rotating the Wheels Dinner at the Mercer Island Beach Club, the evening of June 24. The next Friday is July 1, 2005, the first day of the new Lingenbrink regime. On that date, another quarterly billing will go out. Yes, time does march on, and somehow even more quickly than before!

If your work life has changed in any way, and you’d like a change in your classification, please contact the Club Administrator.

Time of Reckoning & Recognition for Rotary Foundation

x0606PHFellowsThe Two Dons were joined by Dick Brown, and they all took over the meeting to hand out lots of Rotary Foundation recognition buttons and certificates. Don Chandler, Don Deasy, and Dick Brown enjoyed every minute of their session, first by announcing that the club had attained “100% participation” by the entire membership in this year’s Annual Giving campaign. A rousing round of applause met this good news.

Joining the long list of Bellevue Breakfast Rotarians who have become Paul Harris Fellows (recognizing the gift of $1000 or more to the Foundation) were the following members: Wendi Fischer, Rourke O’Brien to his friend Erik Anderson, and Ann Marie Ladlad, daughter of Ruben Ladlad. As Ruben said when presenting the beautiful framed certificate to Ann Marie, “I can’t think of anything more valuable than a Paul Harris fellowship and I’m proud to bring my daughter into this wonderful recognition. I Love Rotary!”

Next came a group of Rotarians who’ve become eligible for their second sapphire, which recognizes an accumulative contribution to the Foundation. For a contribution of $2000 or more, the following members received their two sapphire pins: Steve Luplow, Tim Moriarty, Rourke O’Brien, Bill Spencer, Bob McKorkle, Phil Salvatori, Steve Goldfarb and John Mix.

The next group has earned three sapphires: Norm Johnson, Ruben Ladlad, and Don Chandler. Don gave his award to himself!

Don Deasy, who has always led the charge on behalf of the Rotary Foundation, was awarded his second ruby pin, which puts his support above $8,000.

Steve Lingenbrink collected his three rubies, which puts him over $9000.

x0606ROTMThen, it was the job of Mr. Flashbulb, Jim Kindsvater, to line up and submit the group to one of his famous pictures. Jim corralled everyone beautifully and snapped a memorable shot.

For their hard work and dedication to the Rotary Foundation, both Don Deasy and Don Chandler were awarded the May Rotarian of the Month plaque to the applause of the club.
