ADMIN CORNER

Can you believe it? Rotary Year 2004-2005 is about history. With a steady plugging ahead each day, Norm Johnson is about to become our Immediate Past President. Maybe it’s because the seasons were all screwed up. After all, the climatologists did say we were in for some kind of an El Nino. Winter came early for a week in late November, followed by a long spring beginning in mid-December through January, followed by a dry spell in February and one week of skiing in March-April and a heat wave in May. No wonder it went fast!

This also means that the business end of Rotary marks the end of the year, too. If your account has a balance, we’d appreciate a timely return. Treasurer Burnett wants to retire with all the money in the bank where it belongs. Thanks!

Club Service I Mini Assembly

x0530ClubService1The internal operations of the BBRC were discussed at a mini-assembly Friday morning, as Director of Club Service I Will Einstein introduced his committee chairs. The operations covered by Club Service I include Programs, Fellowship, Public Relations and Information Services.

Jim Gordon, chair of the Program committee summarized some of the past programs we’ve had. He also talked about next year’s programs and emphasized that he wanted people to have verified that the speaker is a good one before an invite is made.

Sayoko Kuwahara talked about the “Party Animals” (aka Fellowship Committee). She talked of past successes with the Anniversary Dinner, the “Politically Correct” Holiday Party, etc.

Chip Erickson talked of the PR Committee and how he came in to cover for Bill Schultheis when Bill had to take a leave of absence. Chip mentioned that he had a CD available of District Governor Kathy during her interview with a radio station.

John Mix gave a wonderful PowerPoint (Really?) and talked about some of the key players of the “Press Table,” including Jim Kindsvater (photographer), Mark Hough (assistant editor), Tom Smith (editor back-up), Ernie Hayden and Larry Gill (assistant photographers), all who have helped with running the day-to-day communications aspects of the club. John also talked about the Directory and how it is everyone’s responsibility to keep it up to date! So, Club Service # 1 means we are #1!
