THIS WEEK

“Exceeding Customer Expectations,” Brad Worthley, an internationally-acclaimed keynote speaker on customer service and leadership will tell all. He is president of Brad Worthley International, Inc. Bring a guest and find out how to exceed customer expectations, Friday at Glendale Country Club, 7:00 a.m.

ADMIN CORNER

Forty-two members have submitted Directory updates through the new form available in the Member’s Only section on our website. If you want your data listed, get to the form! REMEMBER, when entering the data, USE ONLY THE TAB KEY TO MOVE AROUND THE FORM. Kindly hit the SUBMIT button only ONCE. Just because the button doesn’t talk back to you is no reason to hit it more than once. Each hit results in another form sent to the Club Administrator. If the completed forms had a more colorful pattern, I would save them to paper the bathroom. But, I don’t need all these extra forms. Thanks for sharing!

As for the other 70+ members, you’ve got some work to do. GO TO THE WEBSITE, to MEMBER’S ONLY, CLICK to open, click SUBMIT to offer your ID/PW and the click UPDATE MY INFO. After you’re finished entering your data, click SUBMIT button ONCE! From here on, any updates to the directory will be controlled by YOU! You are now a Certified Junior Web Grunt. Don’t lose your place in line.

A Mini Club Assembly

x0425MargieBurnettMargie Burnett, completing her second term as Treasurer, gave a Mini Assembly on the workings of the Treasurer’s office. Her BBRC financial update was upbeat and complete.

Margie said the Foundation account is the club’s place to award major grants to community organizations. It has a 501© 3, tax deductible designation. This past year, the club distributed $113, 700 raised from the previous year’s Raffle. Mary Bell accounted for $3,890 in fines, scooter’s badges, and interest on accounts. “The BBRC likes giving money away,” said Margie.

The club also has an Endowment in our Foundation, which was created in1998 when Paul Juul gave the first significant donation. Each year, 10% of the club’s fundraising effort goes into the endowment, which accepts donations from members and the community. The club engages the Seattle Foundation to manage our Endowment, which has reached $160,000, just over the initial goal of $150,000. The BBRC Foundation board will determine how income accruing to the Endowment may be spent.

The Club Account is supported mainly by quarterly dues with a $125,000 annual budget. Weekly breakfasts, fellowship activities, club communications, Club Administrator, Online Club Service, Office Supplies, District and International Dues, Conferences and Retreat are all funded out of the Club Account.

An Expense and Funding Request form is available in the Member’s Only section. Allow two weeks for payment. Margie thanked the good work of Terry Peterson, as the Raffle Treasurer, this past year. Cyril Faulkner will take over this important job for the new season beginning in July. Robin Callan will monitor funds from the Golf Outing, and Rich Hammond will become the new Treasurer on July 1. Margie particularly wanted to thank and recognize the Cashier’s Team of Robin Callan, Dick Clarke, Mary Bell, Terry Baker, Jeff Maxwell, Evelyn Cosgwell and Howard Johnson.
