THIS WEEK

“Strategic Plan of the United Way,” Jon Fine, CEO, United Way. United Way has just completed a huge community assessment that is a real milestone in understanding the state of our community. A 5-year strategic plan has also been completed. Attend Friday’s meeting and then head for Semi-ah-moo for the Retreat. Carpools will leave Saturday morning for more attendees. Friday’s regular meeting is at 7:00 a.m. at Glendale Country Club.

ADMIN CORNER

Billing has gone out. Retreat this weekend. Tulips are blooming. Wind and rain is in the forecast. Grass is growing. Spring is here.

Final Call on Retreat

The 2005 Retreat takes place this weekend at Semi-ah-moo Resort near the Canadian border. Howard Johnson notes that several members will be journeying north Saturday morning starting at 5:55 a.m. at the 160th & 405 Park and Ride lot. “If you intend to join the carpool, please let Sayoko Kuwahara know so she can take care of your registration.”

The Retreat is an annual event held over a two-day, one-night span at a spot where the participants can concentrate on the issues to be discussed. Planning for future direction has always been one of the strengths of the BBRC — no plan, no paradigm, no policy, no projects, no public service. Help the leadership determine which road to take. Be at Semi-ah-moo Friday and Saturday.
