The hard-working BBRC Golf Committee has been busily putting the final details together for two golf outings in the next several months. Less than a month away is a warm-up to the BBRC 8th Annual Golf Tourney in July – the golf event held in conjunction with the Club Planning Retreat. This year, linksters will gather on Friday, April 4, at the Loomis Trails course near Semi-ah-moo, the site of the retreat. Paul Martin, Golf Committee Chairperson, encourage all members and interested spouses to take their turn at this great course. Starting tee time at the Retreat Match is 12:10. Contact Peter Powell for participation in any of the retreat events.
The big event is the 8th Annual Golf Outing held the second Friday in July (July 11) at the Mt. Si Golf Course. In the past eight years, this sporting event has become one of the premier fundraising activities of the BBRC. With individual and team registrations, an auction, and corporate sponsorships, the Mt. Si morning accounts for nearly $40,000 in receipts. The main purpose of the Golf Outing is to provide the funds to purchase the prizes for the BBRC Raffle, which begins a month later. For the past eight years, a car has been raffled off, a fundraiser which has become the largest such event monitored by the State of Washington Gambling Commission.
Be on the lookout for information regarding the Golf Outing. Martin’s committee is heck-bent to get as many Club members registered prior to tee time at 8:00 a.m. on July 11. If you’re a golfer, you won’t want to miss this opportunity! Even if you’re NOT a golfer, you won’t want to miss this event!
