Classification Talk

Dan Lewis
Dan Lewis

Dan Lewis, classification “Financial Advisory Services,” gave his classification talk and endeared himself to his audience by noting, “This looks like an AARP meeting! A real hoot!” After recovering from the audience response, Dan said he would blend his talk around his youth and experience. He said he is “in the midst of changing careers.”

Dan worked ten years in the mortgage banking and finance business for Bob McKorkle. (“Do I still have to refer to you as Mr. McKorkle?”) He is a Financial Consultant for AG Edwards and is studying for the exhaustive Series 7 exam. “Once I pass, I can sell stocks and bonds. It’s 9 weeks of study, 8-10 hours a day. May 10 is graduation. My wife says, ‘If you don’t pass this, you’re toast.’ I’m only a couple of weeks into it … quizzes coming up. It’s a great feeling to know that at the end I’ll be able to take a comprehensive 6-hour exam which gives people the right to reject buying stocks from me!”

Talking about  today’s speaker, Dan said he listens to Dori Monson and agrees with him “80% of the time.” His wife, Amy, and daughter, Christina, are major focal points in his life. Raised in the San Francisco area, Dan is a USC grad, 38-years old, and he likes power boating and skiing and enjoys scaling walls and crushing ice.

What followed was a litany of Dan’s desires as he described who he really is. When finished, it was observed that he sounded like the Martha Stewart of Rotary! Dan’s the Man, he can do it if anyone can! Thanks, Dan, for an engaging classification talk!
