Carol Hoeft has persistence. This is her third go-round with the BBRC, and she thanked the membership for warmly welcoming her back. Carol was born and raised in Seattle and lived six blocks from Bob Moloney. She graduated from Garfield High and the UW. “I wanted to go to WSU, but my parents said, ‘Nice girls don’t go to WSU.’”

Carol has been with Eastside Recovery Center since 1976. The Center provides outpatient treatment for people with alcohol addiction. “In all the time I’ve worked there, we’ve never turned away a client. I’m very proud of that statement.” In January 2000, Eastside merged with Therapeutic Health Services in Seattle to broaden services offered. Today, there are programs available in Spanish, and they also have a counselor born and raised in Russia. Childcare is also available for clients.

Carol has a soft heart for those in need. She has seen many wonderful things happen when families have been reunited and watched sick families become well. “Graduates of our program become productive citizens. Sure, we have some failures, but, generally, Therapeutic Health Service does a great job.”

 Welcome home, Carol.
