Both Tory and Whig Parties made major advances this past week as the 2000 Raffle Campaign heats up. The new tally shows a 50% increase in turn-ins, with the Tories closing the gap on the Whigs.
According to figures released Monday by the Very Important Office of Rotary Raffle Results (VIORRR), the Whigs have accounted for 7,704 votes ($), while the
Tories are creeping up with 5,366 ($). Total votes in hand, 13,070.
State of Euphoria, led by Wendi Fischer, has taken the vote lead with 2,000 votes, thanks to a 1,000 vote effort by Howard Johnson. Rookie Will Einstein turned in 420. Bob McKorkle
rounded out the Euphoric report with 580. Coming in second was Jeff Cashman’s State of Nirvana, with an even output by five team members. Led by Ted Szatrowski
’s 800 from last week, others going for Nirvana included Cashman with 210, Wally Mahoney with 300, Steve Luplow with 160, and Steve Peters with 200. Nirvana total was 1,670.
On the Whig side, sneaky Joseph Brazen added 10 votes to his total to continue with the solo individual lead, 2010. His teammates on Shelley Noble’s State of Affairs include Chuck Barnes
with 580, Dick Clarke with 410, and Noble with 204. Affairs total is 3,204 to lead all states. Meanwhile other Whig states came alive with the State of DeNile, headed by Scott Sadler
(160), posting second place scores on the solid sales effort of Steve Goldfarb (1,600), and postings of 250 by Phil Salvatori and 110 by Bob Vallat.
The Deniles accounted for 2,120 votes.
The Whig’s Altered State posted 1,670 votes, combining Bill Spencer’s 1,300 votes and Don Chandler’s 370.
