Privacy Policy

The Rotary Club of Bellevue Breakfast (“BBRC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates bbrc.net. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

BBRC is a membership club based in Bellevue, Washington, and a chapter of Rotary International. We are not in the business of collecting or selling personal data, and we keep what we gather to the minimum we need to run the club.

Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our site, we collect what you type into it:

• Contact Form: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and your message.
• Donation Form: your name, email address, mailing address, and donation amount. Donations made through this Site are received by the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation, a separate organization described below.
• Member Payment Forms: your name, email address, and the dues or event payment you are submitting.

You do not need to create an account or log in to use any of these forms.

Payment Information: We do not collect or store credit card or bank account numbers. All payments and donations are processed by PayPal. When you submit a payment, you are sending that information to PayPal, and their handling of it is governed by the PayPal Privacy Statement. We receive only a transaction confirmation — typically the payer’s name, email address, amount, and date.

Information Collected Automatically: Our site uses Google Analytics, which places cookies on your device and collects standard technical information about your visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you. We use this in aggregate to understand which pages people find useful. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:

• Respond to questions and requests sent through our contact form.
• Send you information about club meetings, events, and activities you have asked about.
• Process and acknowledge donations, and issue receipts.
• Process membership dues and event payments, and keep the club’s financial records.
• Understand how people use our site so we can improve it.
• Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not run advertising on this site.

Cookies & Analytics
Our site uses two kinds of cookies:

• Essential Cookies, which are needed for basic site functions such as loading pages and remembering form entries within a session.
• Analytics Cookies set by Google Analytics, described above.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because there is no common industry standard for interpreting them.

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only in these situations:

• Service providers: We use third parties to run the site and the club: PayPal for payments, Google Analytics for site statistics, and rocket.net for website hosting. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
  Club administration. Club officers and volunteers — such as the treasurer and membership chair — may see contact and payment information as needed to do their jobs.
• Event registration platforms: Some of our fundraisers and public events are hosted on third-party ticketing and registration platforms rather than on this Site. If you register for one of those events, you provide your information directly to that platform and its own privacy policy governs how your information is handled. We generally receive a participant list from the platform containing your name, email address, and registration details.
• The BBRC Foundation: The Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation is a separate tax-exempt organization affiliated with our club. Donations submitted through this Site are received by the Foundation, and we share donor information with it so that it can process and acknowledge your gift.
• Rotary International: As a chartered Rotary club, we report membership information to Rotary International and Rotary District 5030 as required by our charter.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

We do not share your information with other organizations for their own marketing.

We do not use an email marketing platform. Messages we send you come directly from club officers.

How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain contact form submissions for 2 years after we respond. We keep donation and payment records as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally at least seven years. We keep membership records for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterward.

Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including using reputable third-party providers and limiting access to club officers who need it. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy
Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us at the address below, and we will delete it.

Your Choices and Rights
Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete information we no longer need to keep for tax, accounting, or membership purposes
• Stop sending you emails

To make a request, email us at clubadmin@bbrc.net. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to verify your identity first. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

Washington State does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy law, but we honor these requests as a matter of practice.

Links To Other Sites
Our site links to other websites we do not operate, including PayPal, Rotary International, and the third-party ticketing and registration platforms we use for races, fundraisers, and public events. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing information to them.

Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page. If we make a significant change in how we handle personal information, we will post a notice on the site.
