Pearl Leung

Background

Pearl Leung leads local public policy from East King County to Eastern Washington at Amazon, where her work centers on urban growth, economic opportunity, and community partnership. She has built relationships with more than 200 nonprofit and community organizations across the Puget Sound region in affordable housing, human services, arts and culture, and transportation. Prior to Amazon, she spent 14 years at Vulcan Inc. as Director of External Affairs. Named a Puget Sound Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree in 2020, Ms. Leung holds a Masters in Urban Planning and a B.A. in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington. She serves on the boards of Hopelink, Housing Connector, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, and the Bellevue Downtown Association.

“Amazon’s Impact on Bellevue and the Eastside”

Amazon’s Bellevue workforce has grown from 2,790 employees to roughly 14,300, with the company projecting an eventual 25,000. Ms. Leung will discuss what that growth has meant for the Eastside and how Amazon approaches its role in the region’s housing, transit, and civic infrastructure.
