Foundation Supports Housing At the Crossroads

Jane Kuechle and her Foundation Committee got an early start this year. They received 30 applications for the $40,000 they have to give away, and they narrowed it down to 5 recipients.

The first presentation was to Bob Riley of Housing at the Crossroads, which provides transitional housing for homeless people. Our gift allowed them to fulfill their fundraising challenge requirement. The entire organization is completely volunteer-run and is all about the kids. They need clothing, food, a place to live. Many have to change schools three times a year. Through Housing at the Crossroads, families can get a safe warm place to stay for up to two years.

By 2027 they will have provided over 200,000 bed nights for these kids. There will be six units when Kensington Court is complete. Fred Barkman presented Bob a check for $8,500.
