Rotary First Harvest Reaches Milestone
By Kevin Jewell, BBRC RFH Coordinator

Last year, RFH collected 10.6 million pounds of food for distribution at our local food banks.  If we can collect at least 10 million pounds this year, our collections (since inception) will exceed 100 million pounds; a nice number in honor of Rotary's 100 year anniversary. RFH is a district wide project that has been so successful that Rotary is replicating the program in other districts.

RFH relies heavily on Rotary Clubs and individual Rotarians for its financial support. I'm sure you noticed that President Norm has been giving RFH speaker gifts. This is one way our club supports RFH. There are several ways we as individuals can also help support RFH.

1. Winter Holiday Gift Cards:
Every year at holiday season you get dozens of rather impersonal getting cards. Consider using RFH gift cards which will provide satisfaction of your donation to you and your recipient. These cards can be customized and RFH can even mail them out for you.  Please call me for more details about holiday gift cards.

2. Harvest Partners
You can make a donation monthly to RFH by becoming a Harvest Partner at any level of giving. The donation can be debited to your checking account or credit card. These gifts help provide RFH with a stable, predictable source of income.

3. Individual Gift:
RFH always welcomes individual contributions. I personally have used these as gifts in memory of a special person.

RFH is OUR district's program. We need and encourage your continued support to help make a difference in solving hunger in our community. Thank you for your consideration, and I would be happy to answer any RFH questions.
