Raffle Season

Cecil B. DeWater and Steven Spielfarb, producers of the BBRC Raffle film festival strolled on the scene to rally the crew towards bigger and better raffle sales. Spielfarb’s Dreamworks bunch widened its lead to $5,500 over his Cecil B. MGM group. This week’s tally is Spielfarb $23,580; DeWater, $18,050. That’s a total of $41,630, which is on pace for recent raffle efforts. There are seven turn-in weeks remaining.

To whet everyone’s appetite, the filmmakers rolled out a Doctor Seuss skit, with Alex Rule as Cat in the Hat. Thing 1 was a devilish little whirlwind squirting pink stuff all over various targets, played by Chris Monger; Brian Evison was type-cast as the Grinch; Maureen Concannon was stunning as Cindy Lou Who; Nick Paget and Carlos Aragon did a parody on "Knox and Fox and Sox"; Tim Moriarty was Sam I Am and Dick Brown was completely in character in Green Eggs and Ham. As the accompanying pictures show, the cast spared no funds with their elaborate costumes. Now, the membership must respond with an outpouring of raffle sales or the Grinch will pay a visit.

As for the team and individual totals, Mary Bell came alive with a deposit of $5,340 to forge rapidly into the individual lead. That also put her team into first place with $6,600. Not far behind was Jenny Andrews’s squad, accounting for $6,440. The beat goes on.
