THIS WEEK

This Week marks the culmination of another Rotary Year — not just any Rotary Year, but the once-in-a-100-years commemoration of Rotary International’s founding. With work yet to do, the BBRC enters its 20th year by celebrating another Rotating the Wheels. This promises to be the finest ever, with over 120 members and guests arriving at the Mercer Island Beach Club, 8326 Avalon Drive, Mercer Island. Complete directions to the site are available on the BBRC website.

THERE WILL BE NO FRIDAY MORNING MEETING AT GLENDALE. Meeting’s resume next week with the first meeting of the new year, Friday, July 1, 7:00 a.m at Glendale.

ADMIN CORNER

The old Mix Chassis is undergoing some preliminaries to a grand surgery scheduled for Monday, July 11. An arthritic knee got the best of your Club Administrator and will be replaced that day. Just plug and play, right?!

Moe, 90, was visiting his longtime buddy, Sam, also 90,in the hospital. Sam's prospects were poor.

"Sam," says Moe, "You know how we have both loved baseball, and how we played semipro together. When you get to Heaven, somehow you've got to let me know if there's baseball."

Sam nodded. Shortly afterwards, he passed on.

At midnight in the next week, Moe awakens to a voice: "Moe, it's me! Sam! There is baseball in heaven! Better yet, a lot of our old buddies are here. We're all young, it's always spring and it never rains or snows. We play baseball all we want, and we never get tired!"

"Fantastic, wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams!" exclaims Moe.

"I'm glad you're taking it so well," adds Sam, "because you're scheduled to pitch next Tuesday!"

* * *

A middle-aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table, she had a near death experience and saw God. She asked, "Is my time up?"

God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

After recivering, the woman decided to extend her stay in the hospital to have a face-lift, liposuction and a tummy tuck. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well look good.

She was finally released from the hospital, and while she was crossing the street on her way home, she was hit and killed by an ambulance.

When she got to heaven and saw God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years? Why didn't you pull me out of the path of the ambulance?"

God replied, "Girrrrlllll, I didn't even RECOGNIZE you!"
