THIS WEEK

Ken Colling is CEO of Goodwill Industries. This organization has carved out success with 80 years of recycling wanted items and thus building new lives. Hear his story Friday at 7:00 a.m. at the Glendale Country Club.

ADMIN CORNER

Upcoming meetings of the BBRC would make great introductions to prospective new members. On March 11, Frank Enfinger will explain computer forensics and investigations; On March 18, Lisa Schmidt and Alex Rule will team up to explore “Workplace Wellness”, followed by a very interesting look at the Patterson Creek camp, which assists special needs kids and their families. Plan to bring a guest with an eye to inviting them to join the BBRC. Remember individuals are asked to become Rotary members by invitation, and you’re the inviter!

Why Are You Reading This?

x0228SmithAs temporary editor of this week’s Reveille, I’m going to speculate on why you are reading this edition. It seems to me readers can be divided into three categories:

1. You missed the meeting and want to know what happened. Of course! You missed all your friends, and you know we missed you, and you want to keep abreast of what is going on with the organization you hold so dear.

2. You attended the meeting, but you continue to savor the memories. Also understandable! You had such a great time at the meeting that you want to remind yourself of the fellowship and high energy of the club by reliving it through the Reveille. Who wouldn’t?

3. You attended the meeting, but now you have no earthly clue what happened there, so you are sneaking a peek at the Reveille because you are afraid to admit to “Oldtimer’s Disease.” That’s okay. We won’t tell if you won’t.

As a member of the Retention Committee, here’s my plug: we miss those who are in category one. We hope you can attend more meetings in the future, because your energy and participation are part of what makes this club great. We certainly don’t want to make you feel like your absence wasn’t noticed, because it was. So, whether your absence was a one-time necessity, or whether it's becoming a habit, hurry back, because you are what makes our club great. We need you in the club.
