Final Board Meeting
Joint Board Meeting
|
A BBRC tradition was played out in mid-June when the present Board of Directors hosted the newly-elected board, with appearances by several past presidents, at Kim Shrader’s final official board meeting. The event — an afternoon reception — was held at Glendale Country Club on Tuesday, June 10.
The regular business meeting handled a resignation – long-time member Bill Scott, who will be retiring to Whidbey Island and eventually to Gig Harbor — and a request for a leave of absence from Dick Tschetter, who is undergoing hip surgery in early July. Both requests were granted. Board members gave wrap-up reports of their respective fiefdoms. A discussion ensued regarding the “Rule of 85.” July 1 statistics show 11 members are entitled to petition for the rule’s attendance exemption. Only one person has applied so far, Paul Juul.
Eleven of the twelve 2003-2004 board members were in attendance: Robin Callan, Brian Evison, Bob Holert, Norm Johnson, Mary Bell, Jenny Andrews, Phil Salvatori, Mike Hyodo, Kim Shrader, Scott Sadler, and John Smolke attended their first board meeting.
Retiring members included John Martinka, Margie Burnett, Steve Roberts, and Tim Moriarty.
Past Presidents in attendance were Steve Goldfarb, Chuck Barnes, Sharon Edberg, Bob Moloney, Jim Owens, Don Deasy, Howard Johnson, Dick Brown, Don Chandler, and Cary Kopczynski.
The changing of the guard officially takes place at midnight on July 1, 2003, and marked by fun and frolic at the annual Rotating the Wheels Dinner, held at Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville, June 27.
