GreetersPresident Evison was back at the helm, and he introduced Fred Barkman for the Invocation and pledge to the flag. Curt Cummings then greeted three visiting Rotarians, Frank Young and John Matheson, both of the Bellevue Club; and Ray Brook, Mercer Island Rotary.

Evison thanked Steve Goldfarb for filling in the week before while the District Conference was held in Portland. Steve got a cute little Koala Bear for his work.

AwardsEvison also thanked the good work of Bill Schultheis, who engineered the club display and filled in for the ailing John Mix reporting on the Conference. Ernie Hayden assisted Bill in construction of the display, which told conferees about our Centennial Park Project.

Immediate Past President Kim Shrader has called a meeting of the club’s Past Presidents at 8:30 this Friday morning. The topic is: Rule of 85.

DeasyBellMary Bell received a traditional warm welcome from her subjects. Mary noted that Don Deasy “has a beautiful family.” Don had brought his son and daughter to hear Blake Nordstrom. Carlene Buty, new Director of Alumni Relations at Seattle University, was asked to identify any Seattle U Alumni in the room. When they identified themselves, they were requested to “put a buck on the table.” Don Chandler made the Puget Sound Business Journal. He plies his trade with Countrywide Home Loans and paid $5 for the privilege of revealing that fact to the club.
