Proceedings were opened by President Kim Shrader. The invocation was given by Ken Perine, followed by the pledge to the flag. Rich Hammond greeted visiting Rotarians and guests of Rotarians.

Blue Badge Boys: David Miller & Ruben Ladlad

For completing the tasks for new member on the Red Badge, David Miller and Ruben Ladlad were presented their own brand spanking new Blue Badges, signifying permanent membership in the best darn Rotary Club in the — world! Congrats, David and Ruben!

President Kim thanked Peter Powell, Fellowship Committee Chairperson, and President-Elect Brian Evison for the terrific job on the planning and executing of this year’s Retreat. A majority of the 45 Rotarians in attendance indicated a preference for the facilities at Semiahmoo. It was an outstanding event!

President Shrader presents a deserving Mix with his ROTM plaque.

April’s Rotarian of the Month was handed off to John Mix by President Shrader. Mix was cited for singing the best version of the Vandal Fight Song, as well as other Club activities.

President-Elect Brian Evison, taking a page from last week’s retreat, asked all member who hadn’t otherwise done so to fill out the questionnaire completed by those attending the retreat. The Q was distributed to each table, and many members were seen filling it out, which was the reason for it all!

Also going on is the annual committee sign-up ritual. A table has been set aside with the committee rosters available. Members are encouraged to sign up for at least two committees, preferably three.

Both President Shrader and PE Evison put out the call for attendance at the District 5030 May 17 Leadership Assembly. This event will be held at Ballard High school from 7:45 AM to 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 17. This is a big event, with special seminar sessions dealing with almost every Rotary project and committee. If you are serving on the BBRC Board in 2003-2004, or will chair a committee, this assembly is FOR YOU. You can’t be effective if you don’t know nothin’. Circle the 17th and be at Ballard High.
