School Levy in February

Evelyn Cogswell, Sammamish High Principal and BBRC member, explained to the Club’s Bellevue voters that a renewal of the school levy will take place on February 5, 2002. “Every four years the school district goes to the voters for a request for funds, which makes up about 25% of the total budget. The major levy for is for maintenance and operation, another one for more technology acquisition for the schools, and an important renovation and building levy which would assign $15 million for Sammamish High.” Evelyn pointed out it takes a 60% majority to pass. She urged all members to become aware of the various requests and make sure to vote on February 5th.
