Annual Visit of the District Governor

District Governor Bob Wilson
District Governor Bob Wilson

President Goldfarb introduced District Governor Bob Wilson, from the Lynnwood Club. Bob is a retired veterinarian who joined Rotary in 1987. Obviously making a substantial commitment to Rotary, he has risen to the position of District Governor in only 14 years.

Bob expanded on Rotary International’s theme regarding the substantial membership drive. He pointed out that Rotary gained 24,000 net members last year.

Although Rotary is booming in many parts of the world, like India, Bob reminded that 1/3 of all Rotarians live in North America, so North American membership has a significant impact on world membership.

Bob may have been expecting serious Rotary questions from the audience, but instead was confronted with questions such as that from Jenny Andrews, who asked if he had any experience as a veterinary psychologist or sex therapist, since Jenny’s llamas weren’t producing any offspring.

At least Bob demonstrated that he has a good sense of humor.
