 Rotarian Of The Month

Mix, Kopczynski
President Kopczynski presents John Mix with the plaque for October Rotarian of the Month.

Through some sort of tabulation mistake – common in life today – the BBRC President selected John Mix as the October Rotarian of the Month. It was probably because October was Mix’s 66th birthday, or that usually there is a stock market crash that month. In honoring Mix, President Kopczynski said the plate for engraving the recipient’s name could only accommodate someone with three letters in his name. Mix beat out the May brothers and a whole bunch of other fine Rotarians who have only four letters in their last name.

Reached at his ranch in the shadow of the Reformatory in Monroe, Mix said he was “humbled by the honor bestowed. All I’ve ever wanted was to work full time for the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and accept a plaque once in awhile for compensation. Obviously, with this award, I will have to work a few more years.” [Seriously, the award is much appreciated, coming from a group of outstanding people for whom it is easy to work. Anybody else play the piano? – J. Mix]
