The Ups & Downs of Baseball
Bill Krueger, frequent visitor to the BBRC, friend of Brian Evison, and former Mariner pitcher, gave his assessment of Seattle’s major league entry in the American League.
Krueger “works three jobs,” as explained in Evison’s introduction. “Bill is Marketing Director for a company called Fastball and does an on-air gig on KJR SportsTalk and
the evening baseball wrap-up on Fox Sports Northwest.”
Krueger spent 13 years in the majors, including being on the 1988 roster of the LA Dodgers when they won the World Series, giving him a coveted ring. More

Sadler Wins Best Legs Contest
The Fellowship Committee, fighting back the summer doldrums, sponsored the first – and perhaps the last – Best Legs Contest (Men Only) last Friday. An impressive list of judges
gathered to award a series of prizes in many categories and to select the “Grand Champion” from among the contestants. Some of the categories included Most Colorful Shorts, Best Suntan, Best Scar
, Hairiest Legs, Whitest Legs, Longest Legs, and Shortest Shorts.
Raffle Update
Joseph Brazen took personal charge of the Raffle sales by depositing $2,000 worth of tickets with the Controller of the Raffle. Coupled with Bill Spencer’s $1,300 and
some additional turn-ins on Friday, the Whig Party has taken a whopping early lead in the vote sweepstakes – 3,504 to 200. Steve Peters is the lone contributor to the Tory
cause, with $200. Each dollar is a vote for the respective candidates: Dick Brown for the Tories and Jim Zidar for the Whigs. With Brazen’s work, the State of Affairs delegation, led by
Shelley Noble, easily takes the first week voting tabulation with $2,204. More
