Banks greets …
Smolke invocates.

After the opening bell, President Kopczynski set the tone of Friday’s meeting with a series of responses to the question “When does middle age settle in?” His
research put smiles on faces of Rotarians as they heard the invocation.
John Smolke, noted accountant, gave the invocation and led the pledge to the flag. Tony Banks greeted seven visiting Rotarians, each of whom were asked to
remember who their first boyfriend or girlfriend was.
Don Chandler reported that our Thai exchange student, Pakpoom Sae-Jung, will be arriving at SeaTac Airport on August 15. If you are available to help greet Pakpoom, please contact Don. Also, the BBRC is still looking for a host family during the Spring.

With John Mix returning from two weeks visiting the British Isles, the assembled worked on “O Danny Boy,” with accompaniment by Jay Powers. Probably not ready for a gig at
Carnegie Hall.

Sergeant At Arms Rourke O’Brien fined Wally Mahoney $2.00 for an exchange of emails with Sadru Kabani. Now, fining has gone electronic and onto the net. What’s coming next?
Secretary Terry Peterson was commended for his early work in his new position. He received a “Get Out of Jail Free Card” – for when the SAG isn’t so kind next time.
O’Brien warned all men in the Club that a fine awaits them next week if they’re not wearing shorts. It’s the First Annual Best Legs Contest (Men
Only), judged by the ladies of the BBRC. Let this be fair warning!
