 Ballard Inducted

Lingenbrink & The Ballards
New member Chris Ballard is flanked by sponsor Steve Lingenbrink (L) and his father Dan Ballard, who is telling the crowd how glad he is that Chris is a new BBRC'er.

Since the Club couldn’t annex the City of Ballard, it went one better and claimed Christopher Ballard as its newest member. Watching with pride was Chris’ dad, Dan Ballard, who had been a business associate of Bob Moloney for 25 years.

Chris grew up on the Eastside, attended Redmond High School, and graduated from Central Washington University in Finance and Economics. He is a former member of the Bellevue Police cadets and will be an asset to the BBRC. His classification is “Insurance: Property & Casualty.” His sponsor is Steve Lingenbrink, and he is co-sponsored by Moloney. Chris’s father spoke about the long-standing relationship with Bob Moloney and how happy he was his son was a member of the BBRC.

President DeWater concluded the ceremony with a note about the internationalism of Rotary. From a booklet published for new members, it stresses that being a Rotarian goes “beyond national patriotism. Being a Rotarian means that an individual supports improving standards of living for people everywhere, bringing justice to those who don’t have it and promoting peace between nations.”

Ballard becomes the BBRC’s 111th member.
