Classification Talk: Tom Harrelson Tom Harrelson completed one of his Red Badge requirements Friday by giving his Classification Talk. Tom is a private gemologist who became interested in gemology back in Arizona, where he used to climb into mines. He started with turquoise and ended up with diamonds. Along the way he has met rattlesnakes, scorpions, tarantulas, and came face to face with dynamite. Tom enlisted in the Army, and after completing a tour in Vietnam, he concluded he didnt want to stay in the army. Following his military stint, Tom attended college and got his degree in art. A job with Friedlander Jewelers brought him to this area. Tom and his wife Beverly liver here with their four Greyhounds. Tom enjoys working in Greyhound rescue and has done so for many years. He says he joined Rotary for fellowship and friendship and to give back to the community. |
