Two new members proposed

The BBRC Board formally approved the applications for membership from two people, one of whom is a former BBRC member.

* * *

Hans Giner, who joined the BBRC in 1993 before taking work overseas in 1998, has returned to the Puget Sound region and is applying for membership once again. Hans and his wife Catherine have seven (yes, count ‘em) children, two of whom are still at home in Bellevue. Hans is the managing partner of a company based in Luxembourg, Aniara Communications S.a.r.l. The company serves in an advisory capacity to the global satellite and telecom industry. Hans works from his office in Bellevue. His classification is proposed to be “Satellite Communications.”

Hans is a native Swede, where he belonged to two Rotary Clubs prior to coming to the U.S. During his seven-year absence, he worked in Indonesia and the Netherlands. As he showed us several weeks ago, he likes to sing, especially Swedish songs! His other hobbies are wines, flying and photography. He has memberships in the Columbia Tower Club and the Bellevue Club. Hans is sponsored by Bob Holert, with Steve Goldfarb as a co-sponsor.

James V. “Jim” Allen is the senior partner in Allen Capital Management and Planning, LLC in Bellevue. His principal business activity is financial planning, and his proposed classification is “Financial Life Planning.” Jim was led to Rotary by his friend Robert Arnold, who is a member of Seattle #4.

Jim and his wife Tina have three grown children and live in Bellevue. Jim is very interested in "giving back to the community" through his membership in Rotary. His hobbies include bonsai and remodeling. His major sports activity includes weightlifting. He is sponsored by Rourke O’Brien, co-sponsored by Wendi Fischer.

If there are comments about these two applications, please direct them to Peter Powell (Ph 425-828-4444). Comments or questions will be taken through Thursday, November 18, at 3:00 p.m.
