The Worldwide Reach of the Rotary Foundation

FriedmanAdam Friedman, Annual Giving Officer for the Rotary Foundation, was introduced by Don Chandler. Adam is a Drake University grad and travels on behalf of RI World Community Service and Foundation Fundraising. “We’re working hard to make the theme ‘Every Rotarian, Every Year’ more than just a motto. Our job is to sustain the annual program fund to provide financial support for projects around the world. Some of these funds come back to each district so that’s why it’s important to support the Foundation. Raising major gifts for RI is part of our job, and District 5030 is one of the best in doing so.”

Adam gave a PowerPoint presentation on why our contribution is so important. Although only 20% of Rotarians give to the Annual Fund, we still help Rotary Clubs in many areas work to improve housing for their people. Money to eradicate polio, provide funds for corrective surgery for polio victims, sponsor literacy projects, and fund grants that magically repair cleft palettes in many children. The matching grants of The Rotary Foundation do in fact make a huge difference. We are supporting the leaders of tomorrow by our gifts today.
