Vocational Service Presentation A new District-wide program that has claimed a lot of attention this past year received even more publicity during Vocational Service month. The Partners in Work program, initiated by the Auburn Rotary Club, is ready to serve a segment of the population who are challenged by their disabilities to get gainful employment. A video has been produced to help promote this program which was co-sponsored by the BBRC. Auburn Rotary Past President Kip Herren noted that Rotary is all about ethical business practices and knowing that 70% of people with developmental disabilities have trouble finding work, this program will utilize Rotary to open doors. With Jeanne Thorsen on the giving end, Past President Herren accepted a $1,000 check as the BBRCs share of the Partners at Work program. |
